We had a very good meal and the service was was excellent we are staying for the new year and looking forward it .
This caf, located about 5 mins drive from the Tesco Dereham roundabout, is set in delightful surroundings comprising approximately two dozen holiday lodges. The caf is open to the public Sunday to Thursday from 0800-1900 hrs and 0800-2200 hrs Friday and Saturday. It serves locally produced food which is freshly prepared at very reasonable prices. Very popular with tourists and locals alike. The building is bright and airy, but because of the acoustics associated with ongoing renovation/improvement work, the large number of patrons present did create a somewhat noisy ambiance. Tuesday lunchtime was very busy. This, however, did not deter us from enjoying our meal and presumably this will be rectified when developments are completed. The basic menu covered the traditional snack options, together with a Specials Menu which on the day we visited included pork in red wine sauce, chicken tikka and cheese & tomato quiche. The waiter was jovial and pleasant and took my order for a mushroom omelette with salad. Often omelettes presented as snack meals are so obviously microwaved, but it was a refreshing change to be served one which was clearly freshly made to order. My wife ordered a slice of Victoria Sponge, which although tasted OK, was rather on the large size. Service was prompt, with the order arriving about hr later. The food was delicious and tasty. Toilets were also very clean. Overall, I would recommend the food for both quality and price. Will certainly return in the future to evaluate one of the specialities to see how tasty they are.
