This is more of a family restaurant than a pub, and I would recommend that the bar is reduced in size. There are pleasant booths as well as normal tables and chairs. There is a shortage of staff, so ordering food and drinks took a while. Prices are very reasonable. I had a vegetarian option of quinoa and beets. It was supposed to be topped by Italian hard cheese, but I didn't see any. The quinoa was OK with a hint of spice, but there was not enough beets. The lettuce leaves had no dressing. Not terrible, and I would go back.
Food is not bad for a chain pub, can be a bit hit and miss with food. Sometimes it is good and other times it is not the best.
Everyone has their opinions on this place and yes it's very mixed feelings about. I personally enjoy it there. Like many other restaurants I've been to they have their faults but on a good day the people there are amazing. Coming for someone who's worked both front and back of house I know the pressure that is put on them. I also understand its not their fault when they mess up as most of the time it's to do with understaff issues. Usually because they have to meet weekly targets etc. Lovely place no problems.
A really fantastic place to eat. The carvery is excellent value and very well cooked too. The serving staff on the carvery are always very friendly and happy to help. Bottomless drinks from the soft drink machine is another real plus too. The vegan menu is vast and there are a lot of vegetarian options too. My wife loves the allotment salad. There is a an outside area that is fenced off for children to play in which has a climbing frame too. There is also an indoor small play area for children too. Facilities are always clean as well. The only downside is on a Saturday or Sunday you really need to book and the car park is quite small, holding maybe 50 cars approximately.
This is a great place for the whole family. Amazing vegan menu alongside traditional pub food and a meaty carvery plus outdoor and indoor children's play areas. The outside has good seating options and enclosed lawn so kids can run around safety but kid-free adult groups can also have an outdoor space without being bothered. Really lovely, welcoming staff. Can't fault!
