Always a nice place to visit when in Dereham on a weekend enjoy some karaoke on a Friday night along with a brew, really nice old fashion hotel pub.
The actual hotel is not even 1 star.. It is run down and very tired. The area outside of my room had exposed plug points, crumbling damp paint and it is generally dirty, due to the fact that it is old and no upkeep has been taken care of. The window in the room I stayed in, would only stay open if it was the whole way up. There was no point in pointing this out, as it requires a new window, judging by the overall state of it. I was above the kitchen vents (on the outside wall) and due to this, I had noise in my room for my entire 2 day stay, even with the window closed. I was also told that they were full?, so a second room move didn't seem credible. I had been moved already from the first room that has no TV remote. I have called the manager Geoff, 2 days ago to raise my concerns, he went home after saying he would call me back after looking at the room. So he just ignored me basically. I have still not received a call and I assume they have caller ID, as I've called numerous times since and the phone is not answered. This is the most unprofessional, care less attitude I have ever encountered. I would avoid this hotel like the plague.
Lovely pub. Friendly staff. Good selection of ales. Great beer garden. Lovely place too go and relax .
This is a great place to stay,very warm friendly atmosphere & staff,excellent breakfast & food,Lots of entertainment,great outside area with play things for young children,Lots of events including barbecues & real ale stands. Rooms are quite basic but clean & have everything you need. A great place at a reasonable price.
